Come one, come all, to Winter Magic – the most fantastic of drive-thru holiday events in Kansas City. A world of winter wonder awaits you! Don’t worry about Krampus, you’ll be safe in your car the whole time. Hey, wear your pajamas and bring your hot chocolate, if it pulls your sled. Drive thru nearly one mile of the most amazing, mesmerizing, WINTERrifically magical holiday light experiences you’ve ever laid those gazers on. See the elves work the toy factory, cruise through the longest light tunnel in the Midwest, be hypnotized by our spinning trees, rock the elf out in our RGB Pixel Party area, and so much more. I’m telling ya, your snodsokklers will probably never believe you. It’s an elf-of-a-good-time!

See the holiday magic every night this season in Kansas City’s Northland near 152 and 169 highways. The magic runs November 1st through January 4th in the new year. Tickets are reserved by half-hour timeslots and there are slots available every night of the week. Winter Magic (in partnership with KC Parks) is the city’s premier, drive thru winter event now for the 6th year in a row! Merry, happy, Christma-Kwanza-Hanak-us! And a happy New Year!

Sometimes. On and around holidays are the busiest times at Winter Magic. Weekends are very popular. On these nights, you can expect some wait, but it usually doesn’t exceed 20 minutes. If you have really young children, gramps legs fall asleep easily, small bladders, or grinchy members in your group, it is best to avoid Black Friday and weekends thereafter. Either way, please plan restrooms, snacks, and activities accordingly – though there is a portable restroom onsite.

The timed slots allow us to funnel traffic more efficiently. And, it keeps our neighbors happy.

Yes. You need to arrive sometime during the half hour that you have reserved. It’s not necessary to be early and don’t worry too much about running late unless you are the last timeslot of the day. (Those elves love their families and like to get home on time. They probably won’t hold the door).

Yes! Many of the lights, including the Midwest’s longest animated light tunnel, will synchronize to the music. You will only need an FM radio in your vehicle to hear the songs. It is quite the holiday party. Be ready to jam!

As low as $20 + taxes/fees per vehicle.  Weekends and certain nights around the holidays will cost $30 or $40 + taxes/fees per vehicle.  You can find a full pricing calendar on our homepage.  Just scroll down near the bottom.

Buses and vans are allowed, but no vehicle over 24ft in length and 13ft in height will be admitted. If you carry more than 15 passengers, a second admission ticket will be required for entry.

$7 additional cost for paying at the gate (day-of).

Tickets are available for advance purchase online. It’s just easier, faster, and cheaper. It also allows us to regulate traffic and keep our neighborhood from backing up with traffic. And, we LOVE our neighbors.

If there is an available timeslot, you can pay at the gate – an additional $7 (on top of the online price) will be charged as a *gate fee.

NO. The onsite ticket attendant will not be accepting CASH.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Just kidding, kind of! If the show needs to shutdown for safety reasons, we will add an update our website. You will see a banner at the top of our home page. If you have already purchased a ticket, we will send you an email if we decide to close! Sometimes we do not make the decision until 2pm the day of.

If your show gets cancelled, we will email you and request you to rebook to a new date/time. Just follow the instructions in the email to rebook.

To get an idea of our nightly hours, there is a full calendar on our homepage (generally, we are open 6-9pm).  Our hours vary a lot throughout the season. 

To know for sure, click the BUY TICKET button at the top of the page, select STANDARD ADMISSION and then select the date and time in question.  If it is available there, we will be open and accepting guests.

No. No one will be allowed outside of their vehicle. All pictures of the lights will need to be taken by one of your passengers, safely from within the vehicle.

No. Many of the lights are pre-programmed with music. There will be no “live” entertainment. Just fully computerized holiday light entertainment.

Yes! We sell Topsy’s Popcorn in multiple flavors and saltwater taffy made by the Taffy Shop. Purchase them online during checkout, while available.

No. Trailers are not allowed in.

Vehicles over 24ft in length and over 13ft high will not be admitted and may cause damage to our displays. If your vehicle fits these sizes but holds more than 15 passengers, you will be required to buy a second ticket to enter.
